Effective date: September 22, 2025

Last updated: September 22, 2025

Thank you for visiting A Wild Child of God. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please replace any bracketed placeholders (e.g., contact info, address) with your organization’s details before publishing.

1. Summary

  • We collect the personal info you give us (name, email, payment info, health/faith notes when you voluntarily share them for coaching), and some technical info automatically (cookies, IP, device).

  • We use your info to deliver services (coaching, newsletters, purchases), to improve our offerings, and to communicate with you.

  • You can opt out of marketing emails, request access, correction, deletion, or export of your data.

  • We’re careful with your data, but nothing online is 100% risk-free — see the Security section.

  • Questions or requests? Email: anna@awildchildofgod.com.

2. Who we are / Data controller

  • Sensitive personal information you volunteer: health details, mental health history, spiritual background, personal testimony, or other notes you provide in coaching/intake forms. We treat this information as especially sensitive.

Important: If you provide sensitive health or medical information, be aware that while we protect it, we are not a healthcare provider or a HIPAA-covered entity unless otherwise specified. Avoid sending PHI (Protected Health Information) by unsecured email unless you have an explicit arrangement.

Information we collect automatically

  • Technical info: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system.

  • Usage data: pages visited, links clicked, time on site, referring/exit pages.

  • Cookies & tracking: cookies, pixels, analytics identifiers (Google Analytics or alternatives), and similar technologies.

Information from third parties

  • If you sign in with third-party services (Google, Facebook, etc.) or we use third-party services (payment processors, analytics, partners), we may receive limited info such as name and email from them.

4. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and manage coaching, courses, events, and purchases.

  • Process payments and refunds.

  • Communicate updates, confirmations, and support replies.

  • Send marketing (with opt-in where required).

  • Personalize content and recommend resources.

  • Improve and secure our website and services.

  • Comply with legal obligations (taxes, required disclosures).

  • Conduct anonymized reporting and research to improve ministry offerings.

We will not sell your personal information.

5. Legal bases for processing (where applicable)

If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, our legal bases include:

  • Contract — to perform services you request (bookings, coaching).

  • Consent — for marketing emails or optional programs where you opt in.

  • Legitimate interests — for fraud prevention, analytics, and improving our services (balanced with your rights).

  • Legal obligation — to comply with laws (tax or accounting).

If you are in a jurisdiction with additional rights (e.g., CCPA in California), see Section 10.

6. Cookies & tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your preferences.

  • Enable functionality (logins, forms).

  • Analyze use and performance (analytics).

  • Deliver ads only if you opt in for promotional campaigns.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser or via our cookie banner. Disabling some cookies may limit site features.

7. Payments & third-party services

We use trusted third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers unless explicitly stated; payment processors handle card data in a PCI-compliant manner. Please review the privacy policies of payment processors for details.

We may also use third-party service providers for hosting, email delivery, analytics, scheduling, and teleconferencing (Zoom, Calendly, Mailchimp, etc.). These providers process data on our behalf under contract.

8. Sharing & disclosures

We may share personal data:

  • With service providers who perform services for us (payment processors, hosting, email).

  • To comply with law or respond to lawful requests (court order, subpoena).

  • To protect rights — to enforce terms of use, prevent fraud, protect safety.

  • In the event of a business transfer — merger, acquisition, sale of assets; we will seek to require the acquirer to honor this policy.

We do not sell personal data.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data (encryption in transit, secured servers, access controls). However, no internet-based system is 100% secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact anna@awildchildofgod.com immediately.

10. Your privacy rights (how to access, control, and delete data)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Delete your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).

  • Export or port your data to another provider.

  • Object or restrict processing (including for marketing).

  • Opt-out of sale (if applicable in your state).

  • Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent (e.g., marketing).

To exercise these rights, contact: anna@awildchildofgod.com. Please allow up to 30 days for a response; we may need additional information to verify your identity.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You may have specific rights regarding disclosure, deletion, and opting out of the sale of personal information. Contact the email above and specify “California Privacy Request.”

11. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described: to provide services, comply with legal obligations (tax records, contracts), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical retention periods: transactional records — 7 years (for tax), coaching records — up to [INSERT PERIOD, e.g., 3–7 years], marketing data — until you unsubscribe.\

12. Children & minors

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or higher age where required). If you are a parent who believes your child under the applicable age provided us data, contact anna@awildchildofgod.com to request deletion.

13. International transfers

If you are outside the country where we operate, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States (or other countries). We will protect such transfers using appropriate safeguards required by law (standard contractual clauses, etc.) where applicable.

14. Sensitive information & coaching note

Because we provide faith-based coaching and people may share health or spiritual details, please be mindful that:

  • Do not send emergency or life-threatening information through routine email or chat. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or crisis hotlines immediately.

  • We are not a replacement for medical or psychiatric care. Coaching complements — but does not replace — licensed medical/mental-health treatment. If you share medical details, we will treat them as sensitive and confidential but may need to disclose when legally required.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We’ll post the updated policy with a new “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice.

16. Contact us

For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, email: anna@awildchildofgod.com or mail: 155 Garland St., Unit 413, Traverse City, MI 49684. If you remain unsatisfied after contacting us, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
